The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) reauthorizes and updates the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins IV). Perkins V includes several provisions designed to ensure that career and technical education (CTE) programs meet the demands of the 21st-century economy. Perkins V includes specific administrative and fiscal management policies as outlined in EDGAR. These regulations include, but are not limited to, issues such as application procedures and financial administration. This presentation includes a discussion on these procedures and how they connect to the Grants Application Processing System (GAPS).

If you want to have your Local Application, Finance Section, and State EIA spreadsheet approved on the first submission, please attend this workshop. We will assist CTE directors/coordinators and finance directors with the development of the Local Application, Finance Section, and State EIA spreadsheets. Time will be spent discussing items that can be budgeted under the different subprograms, along with the selection of Perkins Indicators for each budgeted line item. This workshop is appropriate for both new and experienced CTE personnel.
